  1. Saw Johnny Thunders at the tiny but legendary 4th Street Saloon in Bethlehem, PA long, long ago. Unfortunately, at the time, I didn’t appreciate what I was seeing nearly as much as I should have. I can’t track down the date. If anyone else can, I’d sure appreciate it.

  2. Do you remember the other guys in the band? Did the 4th St Saloon have bands in ’78-80? I was wondering why I didn’t play there, it sounds like so many places I played…

I always hated all the bullshit about the mix of this album. The original sounds fantastic if you play it really loud like you are supposed to. In fact many of my faves have been criticized for bad sound/mixes – Exile, both Dolls albums, and Layla for starters.

  3. There’s a very available Misfits bootleg from a 4th Street Saloon show on 9/15/79 that I was at, so your time period is right on. I think it’s possible, but not definite, that I saw Gang War with Wayne Kramer. I didn’t even know much about MC5 at that point (stupid 18-year-old). I had a lot to learn.
